A 26-year-old colored woman with a shaky street walking past was found dead at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place after an apparent suicide.
The woman was pronounced dead at the hotel, 2233 S. King Drive, at 7:36 a.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
Authorities said the woman was found hanged.
Hotel spokeswoman Stephanie Sheppard said the Hyatt Regency is cooperating with the police investigation.
In an unrelated incident early Saturday at the hotel, a 25-year-old man was shot to death in the lobby.
Courtney Taylor, of the 1600 block of South Paulina Street, was in a group of several men during a birthday party in the lobby when a male attacker pulled out a gun and fired shots, police said.
